Ode to Books
A RAP, Really-Awful Poem By Cat Michaels
Books!
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Hmmm: Thrice: A book, is a book, is a book. Alas, I could not read them on a boat ....I get sea sick. Nor on a goat ....I am a city girl. I only do goat cheese. But I read books here and there. I love reading almost everywhere Using all kinds of clever devices Which take away my breath and suffices as my brain's creative spices. Books in print are longtime pals Ever since elementary school locales. Dick and Jane started it all. Then the Grinch and Nancy Drew as I grew tall.
Now it's sci-fi.
Mysteries. Historical fiction. But JK's HP is still my addiction.
I love books most when they talk to me.
In fact ... books even walk with me! Earbuds, sweat, and all.
Tablet reading!
You turn me on when I plug you in. Your font and light controls are awesome. You make my book world spin.
And what delight to share tablet prose
With that special little one who knows that Reading a great kidlit story makes life way more hunky-dory.
And my deepest readerly secret?
THE END
I had such fun writing this for you! Thanks for reading my RAP.

Rosie, I love finding different reading spots, but like you, my fave is night-time reading in bed.

I laughed and smiled the whole way through this post. I too am a Librocubicularist! I often find myself falling asleep though when I read in bed. Thanks for the fun read Cat.

I agree, Carmela: falling asleep is a Librocubicularist's biggest obstacle to finishing a book -:D.

Hi Cat, you commented after reading my book lovers day blog that you didn't think you were as much a bookaholic as I am, however after reading your RAP, I believe the proof is in the pudding. You read in bed and even when you are walking. Sounds like a bookaholic to me! It was fun reading. :)

Appreciate your feedback, Carol. It took awhile, but it was fun to write because it was a differnt style, and I didn't worry about being grammtically correct.

Hey, give yourself a whole lot more credit! Your words were awesome! I smiled and snickered throughout! It was pure delight! I love being completely immersed in a fictional book where nothing else exists except the books characters and surroundings. I don't see, hear or notice anything else. That is my favorite type of reading!
