How You Can Use a Road Map to Avoid Bumps on the Cowriting Road

Cowriting isn’t like a jolly walk in the park.
It’s hard work,
a collaborative business

than can be a fiasco
if not managed well from the start.

I know. Sigh.

My first cowriting adventure
imploded and haunts me still.

However
since partnering with Rosie Russell on our tale for tweens,

Just Between Sam and Me, shameless plug for our new book [wink]
I picked up tons of cowriting tips that helped
Rosie and I succeed.

I share our learnings
in a conversation about
co-authoring
with fellow Tar Heel blogger Carol Baldwin.

Rosie and I used a Statement of Work (SOW), a road map to hash out our writing roles, royalty distributions, taxes, and other potential bumps
on the cowriting road
before we wrote a jot.

Hi Carol, thank you so much for featuring us again.
I hope by now, those that commented on your last post, received a copy of our 1st chapter of, "Just Between Sam and Me." Please let Cat and I know if that didn't come through for any of you.

I hope everyone is enjoying our journey as Cat and I have had fun explaining our co-writing experiences. Feel free to ask us any questions and we'd love to answer them.

Thanks always, Carol.

This could not have come at a better time Cat. You're an absolute life saver. I've just embarked on a e-book co-writing opportunity and had so many questions and niggling fears, and now at least I feel a bit more prepared after your interview with Carol. Thank you

Linda, a challenge for sure but finding the right partner and hashing out details first helps cowriters find their way.
