How to relax, be creative coloring in for adults

If you visited your favorite retailer lately, it's no surprise that the Coloring In craze for adults is taking over by storm.

While I don’t have patience to sit with drawing pencils, I’m still intrigued (and a bit envious!) of those who churn out page after page of bright beauties.  The process brings a calming joy, colorists report.  Almost a therapeutic exercise. ​

​Today's guest blogger, Author/illustrator friend Karen Emma Hall, recently invited me to join her Coloring In With Color Facebook Page.  

Nature photos offer inspiration

Since I don’t color, I hesitated until Karen suggested I contribute my nature photos as inspiration for the group.  Then I was hooked.

​Karen points out, "There are no mistakes in art.  None.  You are unique, free, and amazing."  

I found this to be spot on as I visited her Facebook coloring group.  

​I was surprised to find how relaxing it was just viewing finished pieces and reading about the joy this work brings to so many.  It was like visiting an art gallery featuring screen-sized lovelies created by everyday people and shared with pride.
